Description

Regis Jesuit is seeking a Learning Specialist to begin in the 2025-2026 school year. This position will be placed on the Faculty Salary Scale, based on education level and years of experience (scale ranges from BA, Tier 1: $53,463 to MA+45, Tier 30: $102,263  and is eligible for full benefits.To learn more about working for Regis Jesuit, please click HERE

Under the direction of the Director of Learning Services, the Learning Specialist provides focused educational support to eligible high school students with learning disabilities, including instruction and coaching, as well as technical assistance to their teachers and parents

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for managing an alpha roster of Learning Services students
  • Work under the direction of the Director of Learning Services to assess and support the needs of students with diagnosed learning disabilities
  • Review student evaluation reports to understand learning profiles of students on a roster and develop accommodation plans based on results and recommendations within the reports
  • Coordinate individual student intake conferences for incoming Learning Services student. Prepare to effectively communicate information about the student’s learning profile to all participants
  • Offer guidance to students related to organization, time management, study skills, and test prep
  • Guide students in the use of assistive technology resources
  • Conduct individual and small-group sessions for students to focus on specific learning strategies, assistive technology, and self-advocacy skills
  • Regularly monitor student grades; initiate relevant support strategies
  • Serve as an advocate for students in the implementation of classroom accommodations and other needed interventions
  • Respond to and initiate communication with families to support student needs, share resources, and strategies
  • Maintain electronic and other files according to Regis Jesuit guidelines
  • Work in partnership with teachers, counselors, and administration to communicate LS program goals and policies to support the needs of Learning Services students
  • Assist with providing extended time accommodations for current and incoming Learning Services students on classroom and standardized tests (entrance exam, placement tests, PSAT, ACT, SAT, AP exams) on school days and on weekend days as needed
  • Assist with the planning for ACT and College Board accommodations requests.
  • Assist with reading admissions files and learning evaluations for applicants
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Services team members to support LS office duties and student interactions across both divisions. This includes working in both offices, as needed.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree (Special Education background required)
  • High school teaching experience preferred
  • Training and/or expertise in learning disabilities and adolescent development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty members, counseling, administration, and off-campus professionals
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to furthering the Catholic, Jesuit mission and identity of Regis Jesuit
