Description

Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Director of Ignatian Service and Immersion to begin in the 2020 - 2021 school year. This is a .8 position with a separate contract for teaching, if available.

The Director of Ignatian Service and Immersion oversees the strategic visioning, coordinating, and ongoing assessment of the Ignatian service and immersion programs for all Regis Jesuit students throughout their four years of high school. This position oversees a staff that includes an assistant/associate director of all service immersion trips, a coordinator of all underclass student service experiences, and possibly other staff throughout the Regis Jesuit Community. This position will work with the entire Regis Jesuit community to develop, maintain, and improve all service and immersion experiences while creating a community that embraces the spirituality of service that consists of one’s love of neighbor and a “faith that does justice”. This is a program director position that is part of the Regis Jesuit Mission tea, and reports directly to the Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.

Essential Job Functions

Direct Lines of Responsibilities:

  • Member of the Service Immersion Office.
  • Member of Mission Team.
  • Member of Senior Capstone Team.
  • Chair of various Service and Immersion Committees
  • Serves as a budget monitor.

Direct Lines of Responsibility, Pertaining to Institutional Strategic Vision:

  • Oversee and supervise a staff working in the Ignatian Service Immersion office.
  • Create, in collaboration with staff and RJHS community, service and immersion opportunities for students.
  • Member of Mission Team that meets with the Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity on a monthly basis.
  • Complete annual Summative Formation with the Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
  • Regularly communicate and work with Director of Ignatian Spirituality and Formation on personal formation.

Lines of Responsibility, Pertaining to Community Enrichment and Formation:

  • Oversee and work with community constituents on visioning for the service opportunities and immersion programs at Regis Jesuit.
  • Oversee the planning and organizing of all service immersion trips nationally, local, and abroad.
  • Oversee and implement a plan for monitoring service/immersion of all RJHS students in collaboration with the office and faculty/staff.
  • Oversee and assist with all communications – the building and sustaining of community partnerships with service sites and immersion trip sites for Regis Jesuit.
  • Collaborate with RJ Media and Communications to promote Service and Immersion related opportunities and events.
  • Work with the Assistant Principal for Mission, Ministry, and Diversity and Division Heads to designate time for service meetings and formation of students, parents, and staff.
  • Oversee and implement a plan for monitoring service/immersion of all RJHS students in collaboration with the office and faculty/staff.
  • Oversee and work with the service coordinator on assigning staff supervision/leadership for all junior/senior service sites and sophomore service days, as well as other volunteer opportunities.
  • Other assignments as assigned by the Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity and ELC.

Lines of Responsibility, Pertaining to Community Enrichment and Formation:

  • Work with Mission Team and staff to create an extensive ongoing formation process for students, parents, and staff attending immersions/service sites.
  • Work with Pastoral Directors and staff immersion trip/service site leaders to have commissioning prayer services for students before they begin their service/immersion experience and follow up reflection afterwards.
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director and work with Regis Jesuit service/immersion club moderators to build community partnerships, promote their service club efforts, and help place students within these service clubs/organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Jesuit Spirituality/Formation and the Principal to create opportunities to promote and form the Regis Jesuit Parent Community on the Mission of Service and Immersion at Regis Jesuit.
  • Assist the Senior Capstone coordinator with all things connected to senior capstone.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)

  • Commitment to the principles of Jesuit education as set forth in the Regis Jesuit Mission Statement and the “Profile of the Jesuit High School Graduate at Graduation”.
  • Capable of working collaboratively.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents and administration.
  • Willingness to be an important part of developing a vision for Regis Jesuit.
