Description
The position of Library Administrative Assistant supports the Head Librarian in providing an outstanding library program to all students, teachers, and administrators. The work schedule is 8 hours per day on student contact days, 8 hours per day on the five days before school begins and five days after the end of school, and full days on professional contact days as directed. The starting salary is $20/hour with full benefits, including employer paid medical and dental.

Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities)
  • Assist in distribution of resources
  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner with students and staff
  • Organizing and communicating daily announcements
  • Willingness to discipline students when necessary
  • Belief that the library is a vehicle for life-long learning
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, how to assist students and staff in locating information resources within the Regis libraries and public and academic libraries
  • Possess the quality of self-motivation and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow with the library media program
  • Support the development and execution of RJ archiving
  • Ability to create documents in a variety of computer applications
  • Adequate typing skills
  • Knowledge of basic clerical procedures and commitment to accuracy in the completion of work
  • Flexible in performing numerous daily duties that require the ability to move from one task to another
  • Ability to assist with the maintenance of audiovisual equipment
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements in a library
  • Willingness to acquire troubleshooting skills with various equipment, including computers, printers, VCRs, and DVDs
  • Willingness to participate in co-curricular activities such as retreats, clubs, and Capstones
  • Willingness to assist students with assignments and computer applications
Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)
  • Clerical experience, preferably in a library and knowledge of the internet.
  • Customer Service in school setting
  • Knowledge of Internet
