Description

Regis Jesuit is seeking a Director of Marketing for the newly formed Marketing Department. This position will begin at $85,000 (commensurate with experience) and includes a competitive benefits package.

The Director of Marketing is Regis Jesuit High School’s chief marketing professional and storyteller for marketing. He/she works to create and share content of the highest quality across all platforms with external audiences and ensure that internal stakeholders also have seamless access to that content. Reporting to both the Vice President of Advancement and the Director of Admissions, the Director of Marketing collaborates closely with those leaders and teams to provide authentic and persuasive proof points, stories and other content that is attractive and compelling to ensure that targeted audiences are aware and supportive of the school’s strategic plan and highest priorities and moved to action. He/she also provides communications counsel to school leadership and participates in ad hoc teams that are called upon to mitigate crises that threaten the school’s reputation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as point person on projects that advance Admissions and Advancement goals, and the public image and perception of the school overall.
  • Provide strategy and leadership for the external communications and marketing team.
  • Copy writing: Write messages, stories, speeches, newsletters, web copy, scripts, talking points and any other materials that are needed to effectively advance key strategic initiatives for external audiences.
  • Identify and collect the strongest and most visual stories on campus that demonstrate Regis Jesuit values and prioritize and tell those stories most effectively.
  • Supervise the Manager of Marketing and Multi-Media Designer.
  • Advise Vice President of Advancement and Director of Admissions on threats to the school’s institutional reputation and propose mitigation responses.
  • Ensure and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with school leadership, internal communications, and advancement and admissions teams so opportunities are leveraged, and messages and materials are shared effectively.

  • Creative writer with the ability to connect storytelling to business objectives and anticipate opportunities and risks.
  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills, interpersonal communications skills, and ability to coordinate messaging across an institution.
  • Flexibility, sense of urgency, passion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Capacity to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience handling sensitive issues and high-visibility projects.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours as needs arise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field
  • Experience in marking and communications to diverse communities
  • Previous experience managing people and projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience at a high school or higher education institution
  • Previous marketing agency experience
  • Understanding of the cycles of Admissions and/or Advancement functions
  • Spanish language skills beneficial but not required
