Description

The Pastoral Retreat coordinator oversees the programming of all student retreats. This includes Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior Retreats and assisting the Director of Pastoral Ministries with Junior Kairos Retreats. This position is directly involved with the planning, organizing, and coordinating of all aspects of these retreats for the girls and boys in collaboration with the retreat directors and leadership teams. This position serves as a member of the Pastoral team and reports directly to the Director of Pastoral Ministries. 

This is a .8 position, with the potential for .2 teaching, if available. The .8 Coordinator position pays $36,000 with full benefits. The teaching portion, if available, will be placed on the 22-23 faculty salary scale based on education level and years of experience (minimum at .2 is $8100).

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Manages, and oversees all the logistics for retreats in collaboration with staff/student retreat leadership teams and the Director of Pastoral Ministries.
  • Coordinates and communicates with all key constituents of the school community for retreats
  • Organizes and implements follow-up activities for both students and staff retreatants.
  • Maintains partnerships and regular communication with retreat sites to arrange meeting spaces, lodging, meals, and ensure safety measures.
  • Consults and collaborates regularly with key staff constituents to ensure the best retreat experiences for all students; this includes counseling, deans, division heads, Director of Cornerstone Program.
  • Shares disciplinary, academic, or mental health issues with the Director of Pastoral Ministries.
  • Assists in the leadership of First Year Orientation programming incorporating the spiritual themes of Freshmen Retreat.
  • Coordinates with school health officials to obtain medical records for students and ensures medical kits for retreats; ensures all adult chaperones understand their role in dispensing medications and responding to emergencies.
  • Verifies that every faculty member is participating in at least one retreat experience per school year working to ensure this with Director of Pastoral Ministries and Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
  • Verifies that all students attend the retreat as a graduation requirement and/or verify contingency plan in collaboration with the Director of Pastoral Ministries
  • Assists the Director of Pastoral Ministries in the student and staff leadership selection process.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)

Required:
Prior experience in pastoral programming, retreat leadership, and formation at the high school level as related to Catholic, Jesuit Secondary Education of young women and men.

Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies, Theology, or another related field.
