Description

Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Liturgical Coordinator to begin in the 2023 - 2024 school year.

This position may be included as additional responsibilities on a faculty contract (.3 Coordinator + up to .7 class load) with the Coordinator position receiving a stipend starting at $16,000. The faculty portion will be placed on the Faculty Salary Scale, based on education level and years of experience (scale begins at  BA, Tier 1: $43,505 to MA45, Tier 30: $97,064). We give 1:1 credit for the first ten years of teaching and 1:2 for years over ten, with no maximum until Tier 30. 

If the position is not combined with a teaching load, it will be paid $25/hour. Average weekly hours will be between 10-15. This position will follow the school year calendar.

Position Summary
The Liturgical Coordinator supervises and oversees all Regis Jesuit student liturgy and prayer services taking place on campus and on student retreats. This includes the coordination of all-school, IMPACT grade level, retreat student masses/prayer services and daily school/retreat prayers.

This position is part of the Pastoral Ministries office staff and reports directly to the Director of Pastoral Ministries. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Oversees and leads a team of student sacristans, the student/staff liturgical, and daily prayer planning committees.
  • Works to recruit/invite students and staff to serve in key liturgical roles of the Mass and in leading daily prayer with the RJHS community.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Pastoral Ministries on the setup and decorum of liturgical spaces.
  • Coordinates with students and staff for various ministerial roles for liturgy/ prayer services.
  • Invites, forms, and trains lectors, acolytes, Eucharistic Ministers, and other liturgical roles of the Catholic Church.
  • Assigns in coordination with the Director of Pastoral Ministries, Division Heads, and Deans on various prefecting roles to faculty/staff members during the liturgies and prayer services including ushers, hallways/bathroom monitors, etc. to ensure proper behavior and reverence.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Pastoral Ministries regarding environmental space of the chapels per Catholic liturgical season.
  • Oversees and maintains the sacristies in both chapels in collaboration with the Assistant for Mission, Ministry, and Diversity
  • Oversees setup and cleanup of all Regis Jesuit liturgies/prayer services with the office of facilities.
  • Coordinates with the Pastoral Ministries Director to find and compose daily prayers/examens that engages the liturgical calendar and the “signs of the times”
  • Coordinates with music ministers and the student choir for student masses and/or prayer services.
  • Creates the PowerPoint slides for the Mass responses and music for each Mass.
  • Works with communication and marketing offices to ensure daily prayer, liturgy announcements etc. are communicated on various RJHS social platforms.
  • Coordinates with sound technician for Mass/Prayer Service setup in a timely fashion.
  • Oversees all daily prayers at Regis Jesuit High School during the school day.
  • Recruits a diverse array of students and faculty within the RJHS community to lead daily prayers over the public announcer including daily examens.
  • Coordinates with the Pastoral Ministries Director to find and compose daily prayers/examens that engages the “signs of the times”.
  • Ensures prayers/prayer services are prepared and ready for student retreats collaborating with students and staff retreat leaders.
  • Coordinates with each Retreat Director about the various liturgical needs and supplies providing a liturgical kit for each retreat as needed while maintaining a regular inventory of supplies for liturgy and prayer for all RJHS student retreats.
  • Coordinate all Retreat Prayer Services and liturgies taking place on Regis Jesuit’s campus; this includes overseeing and leading the sophomore grounds crew and Kairos student home teams.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Pastoral Ministries Director

Requirements

  • Must be a practicing Catholic
  • Must have experience in liturgy and prayer within the Catholic, Jesuit tradition, especially as it relates to Catholic Jesuit education
  • Experience working in schools and in youth and adult spiritual/religious formation
