Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Director of Pastoral Ministries to begin in the 2025-2026 school year. This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate has been selected. Interviews will not begin until mid-January.
Pastoral Ministries at Regis Jesuit High School provide all students with opportunities throughout their high school years to praise, worship and thank God through engagement in daily prayer, Sacraments, and retreats. These Pastoral ministries are integral to a Regis Jesuit Catholic Education and are a prerequisite for graduation.
The Director of Pastoral Ministries oversees all pastoral programming, care, and formation efforts for the Regis Jesuit High School student body in collaboration with the students, families, and staff. This includes the visioning, coordinating, and ongoing assessment of Regis Jesuit Pastoral programs for all Regis Jesuit girls and boys throughout their four years of high school. This position chairs the Pastoral Team and pastoral committees, as required. The director also serves as a member of the Regis Jesuit mission team and reports directly to the Assistant Principal for Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
This is a .8 school-year position with the potential for .2 teaching, if available. The starting salary is $60,000, commensurate with experience. The teaching portion of the salary will be based on education level and years of experience using the 25-26 faculty salary scale. The position is eligible for full benefits.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Creates, implements, and communicates the pastoral vision of Regis Jesuit in collaboration with the Pastoral Team and Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity, as integral to Catholic, Jesuit Education.
- Oversees all student pastoral programs and formation efforts on campus including liturgies, prayer services, retreats, and other student ministerial activities/experiences e.g. ministerial trainings, student faith groups, Bible Studies, Pastoral Core Team, Liturgical Leadership Club.
- Coordinates and oversees the retreat programs and the formation of student and adult directors.
- Assesses the pastoral needs of the student community providing the sufficient pastoral programming/formation for adult staff who lead student pastoral ministries in partnership with the Adult Formation Director.
- Oversees and ensures an equitable and inclusive selection process for the student leadership of pastoral programs including retreats, liturgies, daily prayers, etc.
- Oversees and supervises the placement of staff on retreats, liturgies, and daily prayers, etc. in collaboration with the Pastoral Team, Mission Team, and Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry and Diversity.
- Oversees the evaluation of each retreat in collaboration with retreat leadership and the Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
- Oversees the reflection process prior to and following the retreat experiences for students and staff.
Program Responsibilities:
- Oversees a pastoral team of students/staff that plans all the elements of student liturgies, retreats, prayer services, and special pastoral events.
- Plans the yearly Pastoral Calendar and All School Liturgies in collaboration with the Pastoral Team, ELC, the Jesuit Community, and Assistant Principal for Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
- Supervises the communications for families and retreat leadership teams in collaboration with the MMD support staff and Communications office.
- Utilizes instruments to gather, assess and share annual data metrics on the pastoral programming, formation, and ministerial efforts at Regis Jesuit High School.
- Oversees the care and maintenance of all Regis Jesuit worship spaces in collaboration with the facilities office.
- Partners with all constituents integral to pastoral programming including MMD directors and offices on pastoral pieces within their context.
- Annually regulates the cycle of adult leadership in pastoral programming in collaboration with the Assistant Principal of Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
- Contributes to ministerial requests taking place at Regis Jesuit on an annual basis in collaboration with the Assistant Principal for Mission, Ministry, and Diversity.
- Considers accommodations and unique situations in partnership with the student support and student life offices.
- Collaborates with Jesuit Schools Network, the Jesuit Province, and other Jesuit secondary schools on issues of pastoral programming, formation, and ministerial needs.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)
Required:
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church
- Prior experience in pastoral programming, visioning, and formation at the high school level as related to Catholic, Jesuit Secondary Education of young women and men.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies, Theology, or another related field.
