Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Donor Engagement Officer to begin immediately.
This revenue generating position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to identify, qualify and engage a donor pipeline with the shared goal of increasing mid-level, major and planned gifts for Regis Jesuit High School’s mission and fundraising priorities.This is a full-time, year-round position. As a member of the Advancement team, this position will engage with the art and science of fundraising. Conducting personalized outreach across multiple communication channels, this frontline position will interface with a pool of prospective donors to deepen engagement and connection to the school, qualify philanthropic interests and help inform a robust donor pipeline. Additionally, this position is responsible for a prospect management system that includes prospect identification and research and portfolio management for gift officers to support a highly coordinated and data-informed major gifts program.
The Donor Engagement Officer reports to the Director of Donor Engagement & Events and partners closely with Advancement team members to inform comprehensive and integrated fundraising strategies. This position is a key member of the Advancement Major Gifts team that engages regularly with the Vice President of Advancement and President regarding portfolio moves management and prospect research and strategy.
Essential Job Functions:
Building the Pipeline
- Identify and qualify the donor pipeline (current parents, alumni, past parents, grandparents and foundations) to move prospects through the donor cycle—advancing to assignment with a major gift officer and/or into a donor segmented workflow.
- Through qualification strategies, grow a pool of 100+ solicitable donors ready to make a major gift and/or a planned gift in the next 1-3 years to meet short and long-term revenue goals, and build capacity for ongoing funding initiatives.
- Engage with prospective donors using digital formats, personalized and prescriptive action plans, and meeting key performance indicators for qualification.
- Willingness to pursue direct gift closure within the qualification process.
Prospect Research and Analysis
- Conduct prospect research and analysis using Blackbaud Target Analytics Services such as ResearchPoint, ProspectPoint and WealthPoint to identify and prioritize a robust prospective donor pipeline for major gift engagement.
- Assess giving capacity across constituents, map strategic relationships between donor segments and ensure effective prospect tracking, management and engagement trends.
- Ensure continuity with tracking and reporting of major gift activities in donor database. This includes training gift officers on use of donor management dashboard systems and the recording of donor actions and proposals.
- Through research and analysis, work with gift officers to identify opportunities and inform proposals for major gifts.
- Provide routine reporting to inform major gift projections, assumptions and future funding capacity for projects.
- Create bump lists based on priority for major gift officers in conjunction with advancement events and out-of-town donor visits.
Portfolio Management
- Manage the assignment of approximately 400-500 donors for gift officer portfolios.
- Leverage Blackbaud NXT to best support the work and desired outcomes for portfolio management by gift officers.
- Collaborate with gift officers on moves management process to ensure high-performing portfolios, including monitoring the Vice President of Advancement and President’s portfolios to regularly offer metrics that inform moves management strategy.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards and queries that reflect real-time measurement of key performance indicators and inform major gifts program.
- Advancement Events
- Forward-facing coverage as an Advancement team member at 6+ Advancement events per calendar year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with donor prospect management, research or direct fundraising, preferably in education industry
- Experience working with a customer relationship management system, such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and RENXT
- Customer relations, direct fundraising or sales experience
- Qualities of a Successful Donor Engagement Officer
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in condensing large amounts of information into readable and actionable material.
