Description

The Director of Donor Management and Strategy is a newly created role within the Advancement team that will provide vital work to ensure the success of Regis Jesuits ongoing transformative resource development efforts in support of the school’s strategic priorities. This position will be responsible for providing leadership, strategy and management of a comprehensive and integrated donor relationship system in support of gift officers in order to deliver a highly coordinated, data informed and donor-centric major gifts program. This role will develop, support and refine a moves management donor pipeline with the shared goal of significantly increasing mid-level, major and deferred gifts for Regis Jesuit High School’s strategic fundraising priorities. This individual must understand the school's mission, goals, programs and needs and represent these to various stakeholders through appropriately designed and managed programs. 

The Director of Donor Management and Strategy reports to the VP of Advancement and partners closely with the Directors of Major Gifts, Annual Giving/Scholarships, Events and Alumni Relations to develop comprehensive and integrated strategies to fundraising priorities. This position is a key member of the Advancement Major Gifts team that meets regularly with the Vice President of Advancement and President regarding portfolio moves management, prospect research and strategy, and transformative resource development efforts.

Essential Job Functions:

Prospect, Portfolio and Proposal Management and Analysis

  • Collaborate with Directors of Major Gifts, Annual Giving, Alumni Relations and Events and the Database Manager to assess donor capacity across constituents, map strategic relationships between different donor segments and ensure effective prospect tracking, management, engagement trends and fundraising outcomes.
  • Develop, manage and enforce a donor-centered moves management system that drives mutually-agreed upon cultivation and solicitation strategies that significantly increase the development of mid-level, major and deferred gifts to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Work in partnership with President, VP of Advancement, and Director of Major Gifts to analyze and evaluate gift likelihood from top prospects and guide comprehensive donor engagement strategies.
  • Conduct 1:1 monthly moves management meetings with gift officers to ensure high-performing portfolios, effective management of prospects in cycle, individual accountability metrics, communication between gift officers and team performance.
  • Assist gift officers in developing individual solicitation plans for prospects, provide guidance on proposals, assist in developing giving impact reports and forecast long-term donor goals and opportunities.
  • Create agendas and lead regularly scheduled major gift strategy sessions that provide useful information, recommendations and strategies for gift officers to help them secure major gifts.
  • Handle the tracking and reporting of major gift identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities in the Regis Jesuit donor database. This includes collaborating with the Database Manager on training gift officers on use of donor management dashboard system and the recording of donor actions and proposals.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators and generate prospect management progress reports for the VP of Advancement and Director of Major Gifts including, but not limited to, semi-annual prospect pool summaries, donor cycle trends, analysis of portfolio performances, pipeline reports and other forecasts.
  • Work with Gift Processor and Gift Officers to design a gift management work flow for major gifts and proposals.
  • Design and manage a research program to identify and build a robust prospect and donor pipeline for major gift engagement from high net worth individuals and institutional donors, including assessing prospect interest and ability to financially support Regis Jesuit, areas of support and giving range potential.
  • Partner with the Database Manager to create and maintain policies and procedures supporting best practices for prospect research, ethical and professional research standards, leveraging technology, data integrity and security.

Transformative Resource Development Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Director of Annual Giving and Director Major Gifts, to assist Vice President of Advancement in planning multi-year, multi-faceted approach to philanthropic resource development for Regis Jesuit, including stewardship strategies.
  • Provide fundraising planning and strategic prospecting support to the Vice President of Advancement and the Director of Major Gifts, with emphasis on evaluating the viability of major fundraising goals with Regis Jesuit’s prospect base.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of prospect strategies to identify and incorporate new and mid-level donors in major fundraising initiatives to enlarge the donor base—including building a viable pipeline and managing an ongoing strategic major gifts pyramid.
  • Provide progress reports on strategic fundraising initiatives that align with established guidelines and policies for gift acceptance, counting and reporting. This includes coordination with the Director of Annual Giving and the Business Office on overall YTD Advancement revenue accounting and stewardship of temp-restricted releases.
  • Work with the VP of Advancement on creating substantive meeting agendas, materials and training for fundraising volunteer leadership.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of donor prospect management, research, and fundraising strategy.
  • Experience working with a customer relationship management system, such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and RENXT.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in condensing large amounts of information into readable and actionable material.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, research, and analyze data.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, take action, create solutions, implement plans, analyze results and make recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Frontline fundraising and campaign management experience, including staff management and/or campaign volunteer management.
  • Experience in customer-relationship management software, specifically expertise in RENXT
  • Experience in Higher Education environment

Physical Requirements

Able to lift 50 pounds and assist in moving and setting up for events.
