Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the Regis Jesuit Field Hockey program in alignment with the school’s Jesuit mission and values.
- Develop and implement a positive, inclusive, and competitive program culture that emphasizes character, accountability, and personal growth.
- Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices focused on skill development, tactical understanding, and team cohesion.
- Manage game preparation, strategy, and in-game coaching for varsity competition.
- Recruit, develop, and support assistant coaches; foster collaboration across all levels of the program.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, families, assistant coaches, and the Athletic Department.
- Support student-athletes in balancing academic, athletic, and personal commitments.
- Uphold and enforce school, league, and CHSAA policies and expectations.
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, equipment management, and program logistics.
- Actively contribute to a strong, respectful partnership with the Athletic Department and fellow coaches.
- Engage in offseason planning and development to ensure long-term program sustainability and success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous head or assistant coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (field hockey preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a mission-driven, student-centered athletic program.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes, athletically, academically, and personally.
- Experience mentoring assistant coaches and collaborating within a coaching staff.
- Knowledge of CHSAA rules, regulations, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to connect with and support a wide range of student-athletes with varying experience levels.
- Passion for coaching as a vocation, not just a role, someone who sees athletics as a powerful tool for formation.
- Willingness to engage with parents, alumni, and the broader school community in a professional and positive manner.
